Guide

Everything you need to know about CROTool.com — from setup to analysis.

Get up and running in four steps. You can also use the Setup checklist which tracks your progress automatically.

1

Create your account

Sign up at crotool.com/signup with your email or Google account. After verifying your email you will land on the onboarding screen.

2

Create an organization

An organization is the top-level container for your teams and tests. If you work with multiple brands or clients, create one org per brand. Go to Manage Teams and click Create Organization.

3

Create a team

Inside your organization, create a team. A team maps to one website or project. Each team connects to its own Google Tag Manager container and GA4 property so tests are isolated.

Invite colleagues by email — they can be Admins (full control) or Members (create and manage tests).

4

Connect Google Tag Manager

In your team settings, click Connect GTM. You will authorize CROTool.com to access your GTM account via OAuth. Select the GTM account and container for your website. This enables one-click deployment of tests.

Optionally, add your GA4 Measurement ID (e.g. G-XXXXXXX) so test events are tracked automatically.

Tip: Install the Chrome extension too — it lets you preview variant changes live on your website without deploying.
